Tbilisi City Tour
Tbilisi is a capital of Georgia, founded in the 5th century by King Vakhtang Gorgasali. Tbilisi is one of the oldest cities in the world. It existed as the capital of Iberia. Tbilisi has always been distinguished by urban customs, urban jurisdiction, moral, aesthetic and traditional peculiarities. You can find here a mixture of diferent culturies and centuries. You will see the old part of the city , impressive buildings with balconies of different types. Abanotubani ancient district of Tbilisi with sulfur bathes. Fothres of Narikala wich dates right back to the 4th century, when it was a Persian citadel. In the same way you will see a central avenue wich is a mix of modern and 20th century architecture. You can find a lot of buildings from Soviet Union’s period. Avanue is full of various cafes, shops, restaurants and other entertainment places. The State Museum of Georgia who invites you to the exhibition “Georgian Archaelogy from 8th millennium B.C till 4th century A.D”. It presents the permanent exhibition “Numismatic Treasure”. It will be day full of good impresiones and jurnay in diferent centuries.
Tbilisi- Mestia –Ushguli – Mestia
You will have a fly from Tbilisi to Mestia. Mestia Museum of History and Ethnography. Mestia’s excellent main museum ranges over church treasures, manuscripts, weaponry, jewellery, musical instruments and historical photos, but the biggest highlight is the room of wonderful 10th to 14th century icons from Svaneti’s churches, fashioned in silver or painted in tempera on wood. Drive through Ushguli. On your way you will visit “Tower of love”. After you will arrive to the willige of ushguli wich is located at an altitude of 2,410 metres (7,910 ft) near the foot of Shkhara, one of the highest summits of the Greater Caucasus mountains. Walking in the streets of Ushguli you will reach to the church of the Mother of God located on a hilltop near the village wich dates back to the 12th century. After this unforgettable walk you will have a horse riding . Overnight in Mestia.
Mestia –Kutaisi
Visit of the museum of Khergianebi. House-Museum of Georgian climber, honored master of sports of the USSR international class and rock tiger is located in Mestia, Svaneti. The memorial house-museum was organized in Khergiani’s native house in 1985. Fly to Kutaisi. You will see the Bagrati Cathedral there. It was built in 1003 . Bagrati Temple is an important monument of Georgian culture, both in terms of architectural solution and symbolic significance. After that you will see the Mothsameta Monastery (8th century) wich is one of the most important monuments of Georgian culture. It is located in the gorge of the Tskaltsitela river, surrounded by mountains of the Imereti region. Next stop will be Gelaty Monastery Founded in 1106 . Gelati is a masterpiece of the Golden Age of medieval Georgia, a period of political strength and economic growth. Monastery was the largest cultural and educational center. Overnight in Kutaisi.
Kutaisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi
How we can leave this ragion without visiting Prometheus Cave. The Prometheus Cave is a notable beautiful natural monument of the world. It is about 60-70 million years old. Your journey will continue to Mtskheta ancient capital of Georgia (Kartli) . Here you can see outstanding examples of medieval religious architecture in the Caucasus. They show the high artistic and cultural level attained by this ancient kingdom. You will see the Svetitskhoveli catedral(XI century) and Jvari Monastery(6th century). Arrive in Tbilisi.
Tbilisi – Ananuri – Kazbegi (stepantsminda) – Tbilisi
Ananuri architectural complex on the Aragvi River is one of the best-protected monuments in Georgia. This medieval monument, which is very well preserved, was originally used for military purposes, and only later it became the residence of the Dukes of Aragvi, in the 13th century. After that we will visit Kazbegi (stepantsminda). Stepantsiminda is known for its scenic location in the Greater Caucasus mountains, and is a center for trekkers and mountain climbing. We’ll rise up to the mountain of Sameba and will see the Mountain of mkhinvartsveri one of the major mountain of Caucasus.
Tbilisi city Tour 2
Tbilisi Open Air Museum of Ethnography will be your first stop. It was founded on April 27, 1966 and encompasses 14 ethnographic zones. Each exhibit presents a certain historic-ethnographic area of Georgia. Together with architectural monuments, the museum presents ethnographic materials. Next will be The National Botanical Garden of Tbilisi, that occupies the area of 161 hectares and possesses a collection of over 4,500 taxonomic groups. After a nice walk in the garden you will rich to the church of David(19th century) by cable car. You also will see Mtatsminda Pantheon of Writers and Public Figures wich is located near Father David’s Church. The terrace near the temple offers wonderful views of Tbilisi, which gives a special charm to this place. Using a cable car one more time you will reach to the park of Mtatsminda. The park is situated at the 770 metres height, the highest point of Tbilisi, on the area of more than 100 hectares. You will definitely enjoy views from the highest place of the city.
