 Tbilisi City Tour

Tbilisi is a capital of Georgia, founded in the 5th century by King Vakhtang Gorgasali. Tbilisi is one of the oldest cities in the world. It existed as the capital of Iberia. Tbilisi has always been distinguished by urban customs, urban jurisdiction, moral, aesthetic and traditional peculiarities. You can find here a mixture of diferent culturies and centuries.  You will  see the old part of the city , impressive buildings with balconies of different types.  Abanotubani ancient district of Tbilisi with sulfur bathes. Fothres of Narikala wich dates right back to the 4th century, when it was a Persian citadel. In the same way you will see a central avenue wich is a mix of modern and 20th century architecture. You can find a lot of buildings from Soviet Union’s period. Avanue is full of various cafes, shops, restaurants and other entertainment places.   The State Museum of Georgia who invites you to the exhibition “Georgian Archaelogy from 8th millennium B.C till 4th century A.D”. It presents the permanent exhibition “Numismatic Treasure”. It will be day full of good impresiones and jurnay in diferent centuries.

Tbilisi –Mtskheta – Uplistsikhe – Borjomi

Mtskheta ancient capital of Georgia (Kartli) . Here you can see outstanding examples of medieval religious architecture in the Caucasus. They show the high artistic and cultural level attained by this ancient kingdom. After that you will se Uplistsikhe ancient cave town hewn into the rock.   Its history begins in the I-II millennium B.C. Uplistsikhe was an important religious, political and cultural centre in the Hellenistic and the late Antique periods. Next place will be Borjomi. But on your way to Borjomi you will visit Green Monastary a monument of the 9th century. The monastery complex includes three basilica-type church and a bell tower where the fretwork of the Georgian architectures are now well read. Finaly you will get in Borjomi a region of ancient culture and beautiful nature. There are many interesting monuments from different eras. Its nature, with forests, clean air, healing and mineral waters, alpine fields and lakes hidden in the green, attracts many tourists and travel lovers. You will visit a park of Borjomi and taste mineral water of a ragion.

Borjomi – Akhaltsikhe –  Vardzia –  Borjomi

You will have a fast route of  Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park with Quadrocycles. Its total area is 107,083 hectares. The creation of a system of national parks began at the end of the twentieth century.  Next stop Rabati castle in Akhaltsike. Built in the 13th century, Rabati castle developed under the influence of different cultures over subsequent centuries and this is reflected in its architecture.  Within the 7 hectares castle complex there is a Church, a Mosque, a Minaret and a Synagogue.  Next stop will be Cave monastery complex-Vardzia. Monastery complex, carved in a rock, XII-XIII Century Georgian picturesque monument. Infrastructure includes access tunnels, water facilities, and provision for defense. Return to Borjomi.

 Borjomi – Kutaisi

Kutaisi is located in the Imereti region . It is one of the oldest cities in Georgia and fifth among the oldest cities in Europe. You will see the Bagrati Cathedral there. It was built in 1003 . Bagrati Temple is an important monument of Georgian culture, both in terms of architectural solution and symbolic significance. Next stop will Gelaty Monastery Founded in 1106 . Gelati is a masterpiece of the Golden Age of medieval Georgia, a period of political strength and economic growth.  Monastery was the largest cultural and educational center. And how we can leave this ragion without visiting Prometheus Cave. The Prometheus Cave is a notable beautiful natural monument of the world. It is about 60-70 million years old.   It is part of a large cave system, united by one underground river. Overnight in the city of Zugdidi.

Kutaisi –  Zugdidi

First stop will be Dadiani palace. The collections of the Museum consist of over 45,000 items, some of which date back to the original Palace collection expropriated in 1919.  You will continue your trip visiting Botanical garden of Zugdidi.  It included an orangery, a labyrinth, a plant nursery, a hothouse, and a man-made lake, and was stocked with exotic plants imported from all over the world. Next stop will be Rukhi Castle –  Built in the 17th century by the duke of Samegrelo, Levan Dadiani II. At night you will enjoy a traditional dinner with a folk concert.

Zugdidi – Martvili –  Kutaisi

Drive to Martvili Canyone ,  the monument of nature. The length of the canyon is 2400 meters, and the depth of carving is 20-30 meters, and as for the width, – 5-10 meters. In the middle reaches of the canyon, there are arising 12-15 meters long waterfalls, with a small falling. The Martvili canyons feature beautiful green and blue colors. It is a protected area. There are stretches of quiet water for peddling and swimming, but also steep rocks to climb, spectacular waterfalls to enjoy and caves to explore. Departure to Kutaisi Airport.
