Tbilisi – Bodbe – Signagi (wine tour) – Tsinandali – Telavi

Your trip will start with departure to “Kakheti” Region – Georgia’s Wine Region and first stop will be Bodbe Monastery. According to the legend it is built on the burial place of Saint Nino(a woman who preached Christianity in the territory of Caucasian Iberia). Next stop will be Signagi, city where you will have a nice walk and degustation in one of the wine cellar. You will take part in the production of Georgian sweets “Churchkhela”, you will hear a seminar about Georgian traditional methods of wine making. You will understand why we call our country the homeland of wine and finally taste several types of wine . Continiue to Alexander Chavchavadze House-Museum(tsinandali museum) , enjoiable walk in the beautiful garden of Tsinandali and tour of the 19th century unique wine cellar. Stay in Telavi.

Telavi (wine cellar) – Ikalto –  Wine degustation –  Kvareli

The day will start with a tour in one of the bigest wine factory of kakheti region in Telavi. The sommelier will explain the similarities and differences between Georgian and European wine making techniques. We are users of both methods. After an interesting seminar you will go to the vineyards to get acquainted with Georgian grape varieties. Next stop will be Ikalto Monastery that was founded in the VI century by one of the Assyrian fathers Zenon. Ikalto was the highest educational institution in Georgia during XI-XII centuries. You will continue visiting one more wine cellar(more traditional one). After a short seminar you will have an amazing lunch in the middle of vineyards. Next stop will be Kvareli wine cave a tunnel 7.7 Kilometers in length carved into the rock, filled with the best aging wines. You will witness the baking of Georgian bread, which is made in the Kiln. You will take part in the process of making Georgian traditional dish “Khinkali”.  Stay in Kvareli.

Nekresi Monastery – Sanavardo (Wine degustation)  –  Gurjaani Kvelatsminda – Gurjaani

Departure to Nekresi Monastery wich is located on a high mountain, consisting of buildings of different periods among them is the ancient basilica. Than you will continue to Sanavardo winery to degustate wine and “chacha” –  Georgian high alcohol drink, which is made from grape seeds  . Next stop will be Gurjaani Kvelatsminda Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God  constructed in the 8th or 9th century . Last stop will be in a local familly of Gurjaani where you will have a traditional  “Supra”, which is a traditional Georgian feast, was added to the list of international cultural heritage by UNESCO. It is a ceremony involving plentiful rituals, to feed both body and soul. The Supra will be accompanied by a choir of Georgian traditional songs-singers who will sit at the table with you. All this will make your experience even more unique. Stay in Gurjaani.

Gurjaani –Tbilisi

Departure to tbilisi. City Tour. Because Georgia is at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, as the Silk Road passed here, the synthesis of different cultures is felt in the city. All this makes it more interesting. Gala dinner with Georgian folk dances.
